Guide to install fedora in Virtualbox.

Hey there, TechCS here again with some new content for yall. This time I'm gonna demonstrate Fedora installation in Virtualbox. Guys If you're reading my article first time then please subscribe to our blog. That will keep you updated with the new content. So guys let's dig in.

Prerequisites-

  • Fedora isotake it
  • Virtualboxget it here
  • Extension pack - get it from the link given above.

Step 1-

Now download Virtualbox and install it. Then flash the extension pack.

Step 2-

Then hit virtualbox up and start setting our VM.
So, first create a new VM named as Fedora or whatever you want.
Now click next and set up our RAM. Let it be 2 gigs and use VDI as for image. The storage should not be less than 6 gigs if you are testing( It can be given less but I don't recommend that). For regular use, the sweet spot is 20 gigs.
Now click create and enter settings.
In settings, go to system and uncheck floppy and set the processor to 2 cores.

Now let's  move to display and set it up.
The video memory should not be less that 64 mb. Here I'm taking 128 MB. Let other things be default.
Now go to storage and select the fedora iso in IDE controller. Then move to Network and select NAT. In USB select xHCI and check the things you want to use in the VM.
Now we are done with setting our VM up. Hit OK and move to the next step.

Step 3-
Now,let's open our VM and install the system.
So, when your VM boots, select 'install fedora 32'.

When the screen appears, select the install location and your root passwords etc.
Then click 'begin installation'. It will finish in a few moments.
Well not moments!!!!!!
When the installation finishes, your machine will reboot.
Then you will see a black screen (like above). Your server is ready!!!!
Go and enjoy your VM.
