How to install Manjaro in Virtualbox.
This time I'm gonna tell you how to install Manjaro in Virtualbox. So read the entire article and you'll understand all the important stuff. Let's dig in.......
Here are a few things which you'll need.
- Manjaro ISO file. - This is an arch based linux distro but has got different qualities. It has got a user friendly interface. Unlike Arch, you get a good desktop environment and you dont need to struggle setting things up. Get it here.
- Virtualbox - This is where we are gonna set up our VM. Get it from the resource section. Link will be provided below.
- Extension Pack- Very important if you want your mouse and keyboard working. Get it from the resource section.
- Resource Section
Step 1
Install Virtualbox and flash extension pack. Then grab the Manjaro iso file.
Step 2
Now lets set up our virtual machine. Open Virtualbox and hit new and create a VM named as Manjaro (or whatever you want). Let the RAM be 2048 MB and Storage of 20 GB(Get more if you need.)
This is the point where the real set up starts. Well nothing real here; the same old set up. Uncheck floppy and Set processor to 2 cores. Let the chipset be PIIX3. Enable EFI if you want but here we'll be leaving it. Then go to display and adjust video memory to 64MB.
Then move up to storage and select your Manjaro iso which you downloaded from the given link.
Now go to USB and select xHCI. If you got external mouse and keyboard then don't forget to check them. Then go to Network and select NAT.
Gotcha! You're done!!!!
Enjoy your VM.
Hope this Helps!!!
Yours truly
